I’m just going to leave this here for you.

They are like Mondays without the benefit of claiming hangover status as part of the reason you just don’t seem to give a F*&%.

SOPA/PIPA

We are American. We are the people who, time after time, have stood up to those who govern us unfairly and said “Not again. Not today. Today we stand against you as one. Today we stand against treachery, tyranny, inequality, and injustice.” Stand as a real American against the corporate censorship of our greatest cultural asset. The internet does not belong to the United States. It does not belong to the corporations. It belongs to the people; the people who make it great. It belongs to the individuals who made our culture possible and powerful. A true artist knows that art does not belong to anyone. Instead, it belongs to everyone. It belongs to the empathic people that are moved by it. It belongs to the creative people inspired by it. It belongs to amazing people who enjoy it; not for the income it generates but for the emotions that it elicits. If you have ever been brought back to a better time by the simple utterance of a lyric; ever felt nostalgic over the sight of a movie clip or image; ever been moved by a musical phrase or melody then stand up against PIPA and SOPA. If not so our children and their children can enjoy the same moving events then for yourself. A government exists solely to work for the people that it governs. Our government has forgotten this as we have laid stagnant, letting them fall to corruption. It’s time we stand up and remind them what they work for; what they exist for. Please sign this petition. Join the ranks of Americans everywhere who have decided it is time to stop allowing corporations to buy legislation and start telling our government that we are not stupid; not helpless; and not going to stand for it anymore.

Never have I wanted to be somewhere else so badly.
My new goal in life is to spend a week or two doing fuck all here.

DIGI THIS IS THE PLACE! WE’RE TOTALLY GOING BEFORE WE DIE.

This is on one of the Maldives Atolls.

A resort like this will run anywhere from $1,300 to $10,000 a night.

So I got some webspace for a web portfolio of sorts when I realized 2 very important things.

1) I’ve never had a class on webdesign or web programming and most of my work is done in old languages for older user (Read as Government)

2) I have no real talent for it but like doing it anyway.

Since I do not have PS and I am not very good with actual image based design, I present to you a mix of my skills. This page is entirely comprised of Javascript based on the Raphaël JS library. No CSS, No images, barely any html, multiple browser support (not tested in Chrome yet, so someone give it a shot). It is a work in process and I only spent a couple hours on it but let me know what ya think.

it’s an interesting idea. you need to upload a better quality image in the top right, you can see pixelation or very rough edges.  consider changing your typeface for the title and subtitle altogether, it doesn’t look good. or at least change the colors of both. the stroke in white is choking out the counter when the type is small, making it both hard to read and unpleasant to look at. just my thoughts

Actually, if you open the site in Internet Explorer, it looks fine. I am using a javascript framework that is cross compatible but not visually similar. The image is animated which is why it is pixilated in firefox. I am taking a break for a bit to rethink my design and get some idea flowing with what to do with the framwork. I am thinking of dumping some of it in favor of jquery and rescripting a lot of it from scratch so I can actually capture browser version and code accordingly. Additionally, I am working on an iPhone site for it as well.

I appreciate you taking a look and wouldn’t mind some help with the design as I plan to start up my own company when I can get some stuff nailed down.

i tried the site out in IE, and it does solve both of those problems *wipes brow* i was afraid you’d lost your mind.  one of my specialties is layout design (along with logo design and corporate branding. meaning i’m kickass in illustrator, heh), so i can help you out with whatever you’d like, i’ve got the full adobe creative suite at hand.

See, the catch to this entire page is that it is all done in script.. the only image is the one that rotates. Firefox, though popular, doesn’t handle javascript as well as IE and Chrome.
